About
Dawn Benson is a self-taught mixed media artist based in Saint Charles, Missouri. Her expressive style—marked by bold color, energetic lines, and playful symbolism—reflects both her imagination and her healing journey.
She grew up in a creative environment shaped by the challenges of parental alcoholism and addiction, and the profound loss of her mother to suicide at age 16. Art became a way to cope and lift her spirit. Now, Dawn shares that hope with others—especially children facing similar challenges.
She maintains an active studio practice through gallery exhibitions, art festivals, and community events, and has illustrated children’s books and painted local murals. Dawn teaches art at Oak Haven Montessori School and volunteers at Strong Tower Ranch, where her passion for horses, art, and faith supports children during challenging seasons.
Her artwork now extends into studio art greeting cards—small pieces of joy designed to brighten someone’s day.
Strong Tower Ranch holds a special place in Dawn’s heart. To learn more about this meaningful part of her journey, visit the link below.
