DESCRIPTION:
Open edition, signed fine art prints reproduced from my original acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas, “Xolo Guide”. This piece was built with layers of color using acrylic paints and water-based acrylic markers. The original was on display at the Missouri History Museum’s exhibit celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in 2024. The subject of the painting was inspired by the artist’s love for dogs and the colorful artistic charm of Día de los Muertos / Day of the Dead.
The Xolo dog or the Xoloitzcuintli, a hairless dog breed, was revered as a spiritual guide, believed to assist souls in their journey to the afterlife.
Original artwork was donated to www.dogsonduty.org. This organization supports and trains therapy, guide, and police dogs.
